Who Reviews These Anyway?

My name is Tim Price, and aside from running this site (with the help of a few others, thanks Mark, buddy) I work full time as a senior level Private Investigator in New York state.  As you can imagine, working in the insurance fraud (and occasionally corporate espionage) field  I am often required to use hidden camera devices to capture covert footage of claimants in situations where they behave contrary to their claim.  Over the years, and particularly more recently as technology has improved, myself and others in the industry have used a myriad of these devices ranging from keychain cameras to spy watches to the spy pen.  Through trial and error, the spy pen has arisen as the ‘de facto’ hidden camera device.   Talking with other P.I’s within my own firm and throughout, we often would compare and chat about these gadgets while sitting idle on surveillance waiting for action.  From these hour long chats over the mike system it became apparent just how many junk devices permeated the market, and the effect it had on all of us–from losing footage, ‘eating time’ (working for free) and professional embarrassment with regards to our clients–myself and a few others set out to determine a gold standard for the industry.  It is my hope that not only my fellow Investigators, but others anyone else looking at these devices finds these reviews helpful.  Cheers!
